Industry is booming at Energy Solutions Expo!
Energy Solutions Expo 2009, 7-8 October – London Olympia
Energy Solutions Expo, the UK’s fastest growing energy management event, has recorded exponential growth in both exhibitor and visitor numbers for 2009. The event, which took place from 7 – 8 October, welcomed 33% more visitors* than last year as well as increasing the exhibition floor space by 13% and accommodating 30% more exhibitors.
Adrian Newton, Portfolio Director for Safety and Building Management at UBM Live, organisers of Energy Solutions Expo, said: “We work closely with the industry to ensure Energy Solutions Expo delivers an all-encompassing programme. 2009 was the largest event to date with a host of experiential content and the exceptional figures demonstrate our success. We are delighted to offer this exciting industry a platform on which it may grow and the fact that 72% of this year’s exhibitors have already rebooked for next year is a clear sign that we are on the right path.”
Energy Solutions Expo has consistently evolved since its inception to reflect the most important issues facing energy users. 2009 continued this trend as the event introduced Sustainable Reality - a brand new series of complimentary seminars which focussed on the practical delivery of sustainability and the implications for businesses and other organisations.
This proved to be hugely popular amongst visitors with the Energy Academy, which hosted the educational programme, packed out throughout the two days. Speakers included:
- David Penfold, Head of Sustainability and Innovation, Sainsburys
- Martin Townsend, Director of BREEAM, BRE
- Dr Michael Gell, Director, Xanfeon
- Andrew Morris, Business Development Director, BSI
Presentations were delivered on the most cutting-edge issues in the industry including ‘Tackling Climate Change during a Downturn’, ‘Gearing up for Carbon Reduction Commitment’, ‘Low Carb Refurb Makes Business Sense’ and ‘Energy Use in Schools’.
A further complimentary seminar programme was held in the Technology & Innovation Seminar Theatre which featured case studies from some of the industry’s leading companies such as Mitsubishi Electric, Energy Institute, Earth Energy and powerPerfector. In addition, the Green500 Energy Efficient IT Conference took place alongside Energy Solutions Expo on Thursday 8th October.
2009 also saw the introduction of new features to compliment the established mainstays of the event including Be2Camp at Working Buildings - a facilitated, participant-driven "unconference" centered around Web 2.0 and the built environment.
The interactive feature “Workplace of the Future”, sponsored by Hi-Design and supported by FX and FMX, showcased the latest products and innovations for making the workplace more efficient whilst remaining sustainable and cost effective.
Feedback from exhibitors at Energy Solutions Expo clearly demonstrate the event’s success:Kimberley Webster, who runs the Marketing and PR at powerPerfector, said: "This event is London's most important energy event for solution providers and for us one of the busiest exhibitions in our calendar. The attending delegates are the decision makers we need to be communicating with and the event enables us to clearly position the technology in the marketplace and explain the benefits face to face. Winning the 'Best Innovation in Energy Management' award this year was the icing on the cake."
Lisa Wilkinson, Director of t-mac Technologies, said: “At this year’s event we showcased the expansion of our wireless and zigbee technology and the range of energy showcasing dashboards we have on offer. The positive business discussions we had with potential clients, the reaction we had from those who tested out the t-mac system and ultimately the high number of people that visited our stand made the Energy Solutions Expo a successful networking and trade show for our business.”
Supported by the Energy Institute and the National Energy Foundation, Energy Solutions Expo was co-located with Total Workplace Management, the UK’s largest FM and estates event, and M&E – The Building Services Event, the UK’s only dedicated building services event, as part of Working Buildings 2009.
